About

I have a love/hate relationship with public speaking.

An introvert who paradoxically wanted people to pay attention to me (yes, I was one of those kids), I pushed my teenage self into regional theater and speech and debate to overcome my fears. By the time I graduated from the University of Texas (Austin), I’d won two national collegiate titles and was the #2 speaker in the nation in three speech categories. Then, while working towards my Master’s Degree in Speech Communication and Educational Psychology (also at UT), I served as a coach for the UT Speech team.

I’d found my passion. Since then, I’ve been immersed in the world of communication skills training, competitive presentation/interview skills, executive presence and performance.

Much of the training in these areas operates from the outside in. I start from the inside and, in so doing, achieve greater authenticity, consistency and effectiveness. And, most importantly, nurture and coax each person’s innate charisma to emerge. Fundamentally, who you choose to be is a moment-to-moment opportunity to be in greater alignment with your true self and how you want others to experience you.

Since 1998, I have trained more than 2,500 professionals individually and in teams to:

  • Win multi-million dollar pursuits
  • Gain greater humble confidence and be more comfortable
  • Communicate with greater clarity and authentic charisma
  • Be more effective communicators in a variety of contexts
  • More consistently have the kind of impact on others that they intend
  • Cultivate a communication style that is genuine and allows them to truly connect with others
  • Make their message memorable
